Producer-director S. Narayan is quite happy with the success of his film Chaithrada Chandrama. The film, which was released on September 4, did not have a great opening because of torrential rains and the celebrations associated to Ganesha festival. But after two weeks of release, the film is showing an upward trend in audience turnout in many cities, which is seen as an encouraging sign by the film fraternity. A slow starter, Chaithrada Chandrama is now seeing young audiences turning out in large numbers which paves way for hope that S. Narayan will be able to recover his investment.
Chaithrada Chandrama is very important to producer-director S. Narayan since he has introduced his son Pankaaj through the movie. The heroine is the teen sensation Amoolya, who had a terrific debut through Cheluvina Chithara opposite Ganesh.
Amoolya, who is still in school, could take part in the shooting only during her summer holidays since she is giving equal importance to studies and cinema. Her first film, Cheluvina Chithara, directed by S. Narayan was huge hit and she is very happy in getting an opportunity to work with him again. She said that her role was challenging and it was a satisfying experience to work in the film."I felt great because I had the opportunity to work with Narayan uncle again. The technicians were also the same. I am sure the dances in this film will rock and songs will be a rage. And, Pankaaj! He really surprised me with his dance movements," she added.
