Nanda Deepa is inspired by the song ‘Kannirina Kathe’written by the famous folk singer Gururaja Hoskote in 1973. Apparently the song is one of the favourites of producer Anaji Nagaraj, who decided to make a film from it. The director, Shivu Hiremath, wrote the script 10 years ago. The film focuses on the importance of education and the tenuous relationship between a boy and his stepmother
The film has been completed, shooting 25 days village Shamsi in Hubli. Veteran actor Devaraj, Shruthi, Master Manoj and Sanjana plays the lead roles. The film is expected to release on August 1.
There are four songs written by Dr. Nagendra Prasad and Hoskote. Music is rendered by Hoskote and the audio launch was held recently in Bangalore.
