Dr. Saroja Devi wants the KCAA (Kannada Film Artists' Association) to be established as soon as possible. “ I want to sit in the room of the Kannada Film Artists' Association before I die,” she said. Dr. Saroja Devi was speaking at the function organized to honour 15 film personalities with national and international achievements by the KFCC. Apparently, she was not happy with statement made by the Secretary of the Association Sunderraj that work for the Association has only begun. She also hoped that KCAA would start its functioning in a big way and urged that the 28 divisions of the Kannada cinema industry should remain united forever.
Dr. Saroja Devi received the honour from the KFCC for achieving the Lifetime achievement award from the Indian Government. She also expressed satisfaction in receiving the honour from KFCC before receiving it from any other organization. The Scientists' Association are conducting a function to honour her on the 27th.
The event also saw other prominent personalities like Dr. K.S. Ashwath, Dr. Srinath, Girish Kasaravalli, Umasri, Basanthkumar Patil, Madhu Bangarappa,Master Kishen, Srikanth, Ramachandra, Lingadevaru, Anand P. Raju and producer Dhanraj being honoured with a shawl, silver plate, jasmine garland and a fruit basket. T.S. Nagabharana was not present to receive the honour as he was away in the US.
