It is heard that Lagori, Puneeth Rajkumar's much-awaited film, is shelved. While nobody knows the exact reason why it is stalled indefinitely, sources in the industry suggest that the ongoing recession in the financial sector is to blame.
The high budget film had the hotshots of the industry coming together; producer Rockline Venkatesh, director Yograj Bhatt and of course, power star Puneeth Rajkumar who has been delivering consecutive hits for years now. Puneeth himself is not sure if the project is officially stalled but admitted that a project as big as Lagori could take time to begin.
The film’s script is finalized and it has a shooting schedule of 134 days which could be a major hurdle. The other cast members including the heroine are still being finalized; several names like Meera Jasmine, Ramya, Trisha and Tamannaah are under consideration.
Industry sources say that the script of Lagori is so powerful that it could go down in history as one of best films of Puneeth Rajkumar.
