Meera Jasmine always takes a long time to sign a movie, selecting her roles with care to ensure her success under the arc lights. Now, she has finally signed Anandapurathu Veedu with director Shankar’s S Pictures directed by Marma Desam fame Naga. Nanda is the hero. Lyrics will be penned by Kavi Perarasu Vairamuthu. It is also believed that Anandapurathu Veedu will be S Picture’s costliest venture so far.
Naga, known for his narrative style of direction, has made TV serials like 'Vidathu Karuppu', 'Chidambara Ragasiyam' and 'Edhuvum Nadakkalam'. Since he is famous for his thriller stories, we can expect Anandapurathu Veedu to be of that genre.
Meera Jasmine has already begun shooting for Ijjodu, her latest Kannada film which shows her in the role of a devadasi. Ijjodu, directed by M.S. Sathyu and produced by Reliance Entertainment as part of their plan to enter Kannada films, has spot dubbing (on the sets).
In Tamil, Meera Jasmine will soon be paired with Vijayakanth after he completes Engal Aasan. Vijayakanth will join hands with director Vikraman again in this film titled Mariyadhai. In Telugu, after Yamagola Malli Modalaindi, Srikanth and Meera Jasmine are going to pair up once again in director Srinivasa Reddy's next project Aa Aaa Ee Eee to be produced by Boddam Ashok Yadav under Sri Kalpana Arts banner.
Meanwhile, it is said that Meera Jasmine is now totally out of Malayalam films, as there is an unofficial ban on her by the artists' association AMMA. So, she is trying to balance her career in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada where she has a mix of both commercial and art-house films.
