Actor-writer Mohan is all set to foray into direction. He has already finished writing two scripts. In one of them, titled Kanmani, he will be playing the role of a mentally-retarded person. He has discussed the story with Suhasini Maniratnam who is in Bangalore for the shooting of Master to get her consent for an important role in the film. The producer of the film will be B.N. Gangadhar. Mohan has worked with Mani Ratnam early in his career.
Mohan’s other script, titled Krishna Nee Late Aagi Baro, is a hilarious comedy. Mohan will play the role of a blind person in Eshtu Nagthi Nagu, a famous stage play by K.B.R. Drama Company which is being adapted into a film. Mohan said that he is playing a challenging role and the drama has been staged more than 6000 times in Karnataka. Mohan’s two projects will hopefully take off this year.
Mohan’s ambitious project Lava Kusha for which he created the story has been a failure in the box office and Mohan points at director Om Saiprakash for the lacklustre performance of the movie. He said that he is not responsible for the movie's failure, pointing out that the director’s last three films – Hettare Hennane Herabeku, Citizen and Parodi have all been failures.
