The muhurat of Male Barali, Manju Irali, the Kannada film being directed by Vijayalakshmi Singh, was conducted at Channamma Junior College in Madapur (Kodagu). This is the first time that the pooja of a Kannada film is being conducted at Kodagu. The film is being produced under the banner of Dakshat Combines. M.P. Appachu Ranjan, Madikeri M.L.A. clapped the board signalling the commencement of the shooting. K.P. Chandrakala, former president of the Kodagu District Panchayat, switched on the camera.
Male Barali, Manju Irali is a love story in the backdrop of the coffee plantation in Kodagu. This is Vijayalakshmi’s second film. Earlier, she had directed and produced Ee Bandhana. Vijayalakshmi said that she had involved the same team of technicians who had worked in her first film.
The title of the film is taken from a news paper headline. 'Mukhyamantri' Chandru and Hema Choudhary will act as plantation owners. Sringar Kitty and Parvathi Menon are in the lead roles. Nagkiran, Lakshman, Umasree and Sadhu Kokila are also in the cast.
