Puneeth Rajkumar’s latest movie will be based on the street game 'lagori'. In recent times, movies like Lagaan, Chak De India in Hindi and Chennai 600028 in Tamil, focusing on team sports, raked in the moolah and the whole film unit laughed all the way to the bank.
Director Yogaraj Bhat, of Mungaru Male and Galipata fame, was drawn by this subject and he’s tentatively titled his flick as Lagori. He has roped in Puneeth Rajakumar as the hero. Rockline Venkatesh will produce the film.
Yogaraj Bhat extensively shot his previous two movies in very scenic and picturesque locations. This time around, he’s shooting most of the movie in and around Bangalore and a very small portion of the shoot is planned in New Zealand and the US.
Yogaraj Bhat hasn’t yet finalized the heroine, though he has thought of approaching either Trisha or Priyamani.
