Actress Sanchita Padukone, who is a Deepika Padukone lookalike, had been signed up to play the leading role opposite actor Yogish in a Kannada movie titled Ravana. Sanchita is also incidentally from Padukone near Kundapur in Udupi district (Karnataka) which is Deepika Padukone's native place.

Ravana is the remake of the Tamil hit film Kadhal Kondein. Yogish, who is currently working in Punda opposite Meghana Raj, will soon be completing a string of projects. Ravana (Kannada) is directed by Yogish Hunsoor and produced by Uday K. Mehta and Mohan G. Nayak.

Ravana has Yogi in the lead, while Santosh plays second hero. The story is about a mentally and physically abused young man. The lack of proper upbringing and the loss of his lady love turns him into a psychopath. The cinematography is handled by R. Giri. Shrinivasmurthy, Dwarkish, Ninasam Ashwath and Santosh are also part of the cast.

Sanchita, in the meanwhile, is said to be in talks with a few production houses in Kollywood, and is hoping to strike it big in Tamil films.
