As we alredy informed you, the Hindi film based on cricket fever, Hattrick, had three stories using cricket as the setting. Even this film suffered a setback with poor collections due to the World Cup which has every one's attention now. Now, Kannada films are also getting poor response, thanks to the cricket epidemic sweeping across the country. But there is a positive side to this cricket fever too, especially in the land of sandalwood. Movies and songs are being made with cricket as a background.
"Hodi Hodi double century Hodi life andhre dina dina cricket neenu ulisiko illi ninna wicket" are the words of a song from the film Yee Preethi Onthara, which will feature Kannada cricket stars Sunil Joshi, Vijay Bharadwaj, Ayyappa and Mysore Ganesh. Ganesh has choreographed the song penned by Kaviraj. Shameer is the music diector for the film, directed by Subramanya Thamamane and starring Mithun Tejaswi, Sachin and Manya. Shooting is complete for this film the first co-produced by V. Gayathri Mohan Das Pai, Gurudas Pai, Gokuldas Pai and Kote Shivu. Let's hope this movie scores centuries, and is not bowled out for a duck!
