While actors and actresses are seeking to make a move to Kollywood, our real star Upendra has recently refused an exciting offer that most actors would find irresistible. Tamil film director Vishnuvardhan, who has been on a career high after the success of Billa, is currently working on his new Tamil film, Saravam, starring Arya in the lead. Upendra, when approached for an important role by Vishnuvardhan, politely refused the offer.

Vishnuvardhan had earlier planned to take Nana Patekar, Arjun or Mohanlal for this role while writing the script, but as he finished with the script, he thought that Upendra would suit the role best. He flew down to Bangalore to meet Upendra, but was unable to convince the actor to accept the role.

Upendra is currently working on Salute (in Telugu), starring Vishal and Nayantara.
