Review

Neene Neene lives up to director Shivadwaj's's claim of being a neat, family-oriented film. The narration is quick and compact, the lead actors shine in their mature roles as a married couple and the film acts as an eye-opener to young couples who run behind luxuries that they cannot afford. Neene Neene clearly highlights the credit card mess that today's youngsters have plunged in to.

An intelligent film which is based on today's urban young generation, intelligent, educated and holding well paid jobs, Neene Neene is about the life of Abhishek and Nandini. Abhishek works as marketing executive and marries Nandini, who comes from a wealthy family. After seeing the affluent life that she was leading, Abhishek, who earns Rs.30,000 per month, decides to provide her with the same comforts that she enjoyed before marriage. In the process of pleasing Nandini by providing her with a luxurious life, Abhishek ends up neck-deep in debts. The heavy loans taken from his credit card plus the surety of Rs. 5 lacs which he signed for his friend (who is absconding), put Abhishek in deep trouble.

Meanwhile, Nandini is unaware of the financial mess that Abhishek has put himself in. She delivers a daughter and finds that her husband, instead of being happy, becomes more and more worried as each day progresses. When she comes to know about the financial crisis they are going through, Nandini, as a dutiful wife, joins a call centre to help her husband.

But matters gets worse and the couple splits. But on an optimistic note, Abhishek traces the friend for whom he has signed the surety and his financial problems are solved for the time being. Later, the couple reunites after realizing the mistakes they have made.

Neene Neene has earned fame even before its release as it is a film by actor turned director Shivadwaj. The director deserves praise for choosing a subject which is contemporary. He has narrated the film in a realistic way, with a touch of authenticity that will make young couples ponder about their financial affairs.

Dhyaan, the chocolate hero, portrays the role of a husband with conviction. He has changed his looks for the film, which helps him in identifying with the mature role he plays.Newcomer Aishwarya Nag will surprise you with her talent. Soft, sober and having great screen presence, here is another star who has a great future. Anant Nag shines in the small but important role of the father and Sharan gives good support to the lead actors.

Srimurali impresses us with his melodious tunes and Dinesh Baboo has done a very good job behind the camera.

Neene Neene is a memorable film and a must-watch for young couples who aspire to have an affluent life without the wherewithal for it. Hopefully, the film should make them realize the follies that they can unthinkingly commit with their finances.
